What our camp counselors seem to remember the most about their camp experience is the friendships they make with other counselors and campers. When you volunteer to work a week of camp you will be counseling with 23 other camp counselors. Some counselors are new and others are veterans ready to make your experience a great one! Don’t worry, you will be very well trained to do the job. Being a camp counselor is a wonderful way to spend a week of your summer!
Fun
The theme of camp for the past 50 years has been “Having Fun in the Name of God”. The campers have a great time, but nothing like our counselors. You will have the opportunity to do all the activities that make camp so special like swimming, canoeing, archery, softball, carnival night...and the list goes on and on and on! You do this while at the same time learning valuable leadership skills you will be able to use the rest of your life. BEST part is you get to come to camp for FREE!
Service
As a volunteer you will be making a difference in a young person’s life. Campers look up to their counselors and remember them for many years. Being a camp counselor is an awesome way to live out your faith in a fun way that really does make a difference. If you are a Dowling student you will also get 40 hours of service for school! You will never regret sharing your time and talent!
